Elizabeth O’Neil (The Fresno County Office of Education) Outstanding Lawyer Scholarship
Fresno County Women Lawyers (FCWL) recognizes and awards a $250 scholarship to an
outstanding female high school senior participating in the Annual Fresno County Mock Trial
Competition each Winter. This competition is open to all schools in the Fresno Unified School
District and requires students to participate as “attorneys” and “witnesses” in a mock trial developed
by the District.
Qualifications for the award include, plans to attend college in the Fall following the Winter
competition, the intent to pursue a law degree, and demonstrated leadership in the student’s Mock
Trial Program. Beginning with the Winter 2013 application, applicants must submit a letter of
recommendation from their teacher or attorney coaches and a personal statement.
The 2013 Elizabeth O’Neill Scholarship was awarded to Natalee Bachant of Clovis North High School.
